University of Iowa Research Park

Located in Coralville, Iowa, the UI Research Park leases building sites and business incubation space to growing companies. We offer corporations locating at the Park convenient, sustained access to the extensive, relevant research resources of The University of Iowa. Here, growing enterprises have access to a state-of-the art business incubator, world-class research facilities and a dynamic faculty of scientists, physicians and engineers at one of the world’s leading public research universities.

UI Protolabs

UI ProtoLabs is a multi-facility prototyping resource at the University of Iowa open to startups, businesses, and the general public. These shops can provide an array of prototyping services including:  3-D printing, development of associated electronics/software, and project design.  Our highly skilled experts can find and fix design flaws to your specifications.

UI Economic Development

The University of Iowa is committed to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs, cultivating Iowa’s workforce, and putting the state on the path to economic prosperity. We invite you to explore UI resources for budding entrepreneurs and Iowa small businesses, including: finding a consultant, starting a business, recruiting students, pursuing professional development, relocating your business, commercializing technology, mentoring, and finding IT support.

Educator Resources

We provide resources to formal and informal educators seeking to use archaeology for learners of all ages, including yearly pre-service and in-service teacher workshops. Our archaeology Discovery Trunks are loaned for free to educators statewide. The trunks cover all periods of human occupation in Iowa, from the Paleoindians to historic dairy farming, and include standards-based lessons developed and adapted by experienced curricula writers on staff.

Center for Global & Regional Environmental Research

CGRER members conduct research on a variety of environmental problems impacting Iowa’s air, water, soil and climate. Our education and outreach efforts are focused on helping Iowans better understand the key environmental challenges we face. Through educational outreach, we hope to provide students with classroom content that comes directly from the researchers studying it. CGRER’s Education and Outreach effort are supported by our weekly environmental news and research radio segments distributed to radio stations and key stakeholders around Iowa.

UI Partners

UI Partners was created to help small Iowa companies innovate and grow. We offer a free IT Needs Assessment for small businesses to identify business and technical solutions to them remain competitive. Using student interns, we’re also able to deliver solutions for (IT) challenges, such as creating websites, managing databases, advanced networking, computer optimization and monitoring, or general tech support.
