Webster City Solar Art Sculpture

School of Art and Art History faculty member Dan Miller and his students will design and construct a sculpture in Webster City that reflects Webster City's history and identity and incorporates dynamic elements powered by solar energy.

With funding support from the EPIC-N network and the JPB Foundation, following a grant application made by the Office of Outreach and Engagement, the City of Webster City will add a new public art piece in their downtown district.  This project address a specific concern of the JBP Foundation- to improve planning, extension, sound-costing and financing of community solar.  This public art piece will incorporate solar power into the final design, as both an aesthetic and functional component of the installation with the intention of helping local businesses and residents better understand the potential for solar as a renewable energy source in Webster City.
