Plymouth Bus Shelter

Engineering and Art graduate students will work together to design bus shelter for students attending Central Spring School District (comprised of Plymouth, Manly, Nora Spring, and Rock falls communities).

The Cerro Gordo Department of Public Health received an Arts Build Communities grant from the Iowa Arts Council to design a bus stop that is unique, functional, and appeals to the middle school students who will be utilizing the space.  The grant provides funds as well as the opportunity to partner with the University of Iowa on the project. The bus stop is located on a busy road in Plymouth, and there is currently no shelter for the 50+ students who wait for their buses every day.  This project will provide students with shelter and make the location safer and more visible.
