The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Job Shadow Program

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics understands the value and interest in career exploration and job shadowing to help students gain useful information about the skills and education required for various health sciences careers. Only those that are 18 and older are allowed to job shadow within University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. High school students are encouraged to participate in the STEM group experiences with a school group or local organization or to attend the Mini Medical School or Community Seminars. Current group days offered in partnership with UI Health Care and Workplace Learning Connection include: Mini Med School Day, Child Development/Child Life Day, Genetics Day; Pathology Day and Research Scientist Day. College students that need to have job shadow experiences for degree requirements may be able to shadow various staff at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics depending on the department and various rules and regulations within that department.
