Mandela Washington Fellowship Program

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, started in 2014, is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that empowers young African people through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking. The University of Iowa Fellowship Program is possible through the Institute for International Business (IIB), a partnership of the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) and the Tippie College of Business. The Fellows have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive change in their organizations, institutions, communities, and countries. The YALI Network provides members with invaluable opportunities to connect with other leaders in their community and learn from experts in their field.
