The Provost’s Office of Outreach & Engagement is dedicated to the mission of publically engaging Iowa communities and beyond in work that will benefit those students and families throughout the State. The Office brings the work of faculty, staff, and students together with the people of Iowa. The Office facilitates collaboration among the multitude of engagement efforts on campus, while connecting programs and partnerships with communities to enhance the quality of life across the State. Through specific strategic initiatives the Office seeks to make a difference by growing community partnerships.
In addition to a multitude of affiliated and sponsored programs at the university, the Office hosts six featured programs whose primary mission is outreach and engagement: Arts Share; the Grant Wood Art Colony; Hawkeye Lunch & Learn; the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities (IISC), the Resource, Conservation, & Development (RC&D) Partnership, and Theme Semester. Each program focuses on a collaboration between faculty, staff, and students and diverse external groups in mutually beneficial partnerships that are grounded in scholarship and consistent with the university’s role and missions of teaching, research, and service.
