Hawkeye Lunch & Learn
The Hawkeye Lunch & Learn lecture series aims to bring the University of Iowa out into communities, with faculty, staff, and alumni presenting their areas of expertise to Iowa citizens over the noon hour. Each lecture showcases the diverse work of a passionate expert while increasing the knowledge of how Iowa citizens can collaborate with the university and create a better future for Iowans.
The Office of Outreach & Engagement debuted the Hawkeye Lunch & Learn lecture series in January 2014 and now hosts monthly lectures in Des Moines and Iowa City. The lecture series is free and open to the public, however RSVPs are encouraged. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch, and drinks and desserts are provided.

John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center, 1200 Grand Avenue
The Hawkeye Lunch & Learn lecture series hosts a featured presenter each month in the John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center in downtown Des Moines. This building was acquired by the University of Iowa in 2008 as a way to collaborate with central Iowa educational institutions and advance learning programs to meet the educational needs of Iowans. The Hawkeye Lunch & Learn lecture series joined this effort in January 2014 and continues to host noon hour lectures each month.
Iowa Memorial Union, Iowa Theater, 125 North Madison Street
After receiving great support from the Des Moines community, the Hawkeye Lunch & Learn lecture series expanded to offer monthly lectures in Iowa City. These lectures are held in the historic Iowa Memorial Union Iowa Theater. This building has played a central role in bringing the campus and community together since it was built in the early 1900s.
